| Description: | Ao longo da história é possível destacar algumas tragédias marítimas como o famoso caso do Titanic, que resultou em diversas mortes. Com o intuito de evitar futuras ocorrências do gênero, uma maior conscientização quanto aos treinamentos da tripulação e adequado uso dos equipamentos de salvatagem tornou-se necessária. Devido à maior importância atribuída aos assuntos de segurança em alto mar, o número de acidentes graves reduziu, da mesma forma que a frequência em que ocorriam. Mesmo diante das novas convenções concernentes à segurança, não se deve descartar a possibilidade de um eventual imprevisto que exija o abandono da embarcação ou até mesmo o risco de tornar-se um náufrago. Por esse motivo, dá-se a relevância do conhecimento dos procedimentos de abandono e das técnicas de sobrevivência, bem como a familiarização com as embarcações salva-vidas, que são as baleeiras e balsas infláveis. Dentre os fatores determinantes para sobreviver a um naufrágio, é essencial o uso do colete salva-vidas e a ciência das ações que previnem riscos à saúde. Saber como e quando agir em caso de sinistro, torna-se decisivo para preservar a vida. |
| Abstract: | Throughout history it is possible to highlight some maritime tragedies, like the famous case of the Titanic, which resulted in several deaths. In order to prevent future negative occurrences, greater awareness of the training of the crew and proper use of life saving equipment became necessary. Because of the greater importance given to safety issues at sea, the number of serious accidents reduced in the same way that the frequency of occurring. Even with new conventions concerning security, It is not advisable discard the possibility of any unforeseen event that requires the abandonment of the vessel or even the risk of becoming a castaway. For this reason, it gives the relevance of knowledge of abandonment procedures and survival skills as well as familiarity with life saving vessels, which are the lifeboats and inflatable rafts. Among the determining factors for surviving a shipwreck, the lifejacket is very important, just like the science of actions that prevent health risks. Knowing how and when to act in case of accident it is critical to preserve life. |
